Earlier this month, I was looking for a gift to bring to my crochet guild’s Christmas gift exchange. I found the perfect one in the latest issue of Crochet World, which allowed me to continue fulfilling my promise to myself to stitch at least one project from each issue. It’s called the Tapestry Neck Warmer.
It called for a fun yarn I’ve never used before. In the pattern they used the black yarn with multi-colored flowers, but I used the white with black flowers:
The pattern was written for a Q hook, but as I stitch rather tightly, I decided to go bigger. When I brought home my new S hook, my 12-year old said, “Is it a big fake hook with a surprise inside, like another hook?”
I ended up stitching the neck warmer twice, because it turns out that the Q was all I needed after all. Using the hook listed in the pattern? Didn’t see that one coming. The completed project turned out quite lovely:
I wish I’d thought to get a picture of the recipient wearing it. At least this time I remembered to get a picture of the finished project before giving it away.
Have any of you used this yarn, with the flowers already added?
