For years, every time I opened the September/October ’08 issue of Crochet Today, which has been often lately as it is the issue containing the recently finished Sunburst Bowl, I have been drawn to a particular afghan pattern. Finally, I decided to just get it started.
It’s called the Maple Leaf Afghan.
I bought Caron Simply Soft in the appropriate colors. I’m not sure yet what I’m going to use for the border.
So far, I have finished the first square. The next one will take a little more time since I need to figure out the join-as-you-go technique they are using.
The maple leaf is one of my favorite motifs. If anyone has a pattern that incorporates them, please, send me the information on how to obtain it.
