Over a week since my last post? That can’t be! Would you believe I was abducted by aliens? No? Well, how about that I have to share the computer with a husband and three (almost) teens? Yep, that’s more believable. Well, onto the stitching.
I needed a crocheted flower for the monthly challenge at our guild meeting last week. It seemed like a great opportunity to embellish my yarn ends jar. I pulled out one of the crochet books from the library:
This book is full of beautiful flowers, but they were mostly more work than I wanted to put into this project. I did find one I liked, but I wasn’t happy with how it turned out. I ended up adjusting the concept to make something that really worked for me.
Here is my flower along side the “ruffle rose” that inspired it:
A little hot glue to attach it to the jar lid:
And now my jar no longer says pickles!
I will be back tomorrow with the stitching update I didn’t do today.
What’s that? I promised you some news? Right. What was that? Maybe that my eldest is graduating from high school next week? He is, but that wasn’t it. Oh, I remember. Because I think you can’t have too many crocheters in the world. I’m going to do my part by making a learn to crochet video series. It will start next week. If you know anyone who would like to learn to stitch, but doesn’t have access to in-person lessons, be sure to send them here. Why am I telling you now? Because now I have to do it. There’s a lot of power in a public proclamation.
