I’ve been finishing up my turtle mop pattern and it’s finally done!
I love this project for lots of reasons. The biggest is the story behind it. Some years ago, I was complaining to my husband about the water constantly being spilled on the floor. Not a week later, I received a package in the mail from my grandmother and in it was this delightful turtle mop that lived on my kitchen floor and takes care of these spills for me! It was like she was reading my mind from several states away.
More recently, we were packing to move into our current house and I realized the poor turtle was completely done in. Sadly, I threw him out and wished for another. Again, a couple weeks later, this time during a visit, Grandma brought me a turtle mop. I was so grateful to have another turtle friend for my kitchen.
I looked for a pattern and couldn’t fine one, so, I had to write my own.
Now I can share him with you.
I’ve made several of these as bridal shower gifts. By changing the colors, I get an amazing amount of variety.
