Last weekend I put aside everything I’m supposed to be working on to begin something new.
My son was recently cast in the local Christian Youth Theater (CYT) production of Mary Poppins, and I get to be part of the costume team for the show.
While working in the costume room, I found this scarf
It had such a lovely stitch pattern,
that I knew I had to try to recreate it for myself.
So, that’s what I spent the weekend doing. Thankfully, it wasn’t very difficult, so I was able to get it figured out quickly. Unless, I got it wrong. In which case, don’t tell me. I think I’d rather live in blissful ignorance.
I found some yarn in my stash that looked fun and tried it out. Even though it looks blue in the picture, I assure you that this yarn is purple and green. I’m not sure where I got it, but it is Wool-Ease and the color is Tartan Twist.
It worked up beautifully, and I do think I got the stitch pattern I wanted.
My scarf ended up a good bit smaller than the original, because I ran out of yarn. It’s still long enough to suit me and I was planning to leave the fringe off anyway, as I’m not a fan of fringe.
I kept the notes I made on the pattern, so I can return the original scarf knowing that I can make as many as I wish.
I am planning to share the pattern later this week in my first newsletter. So, if you haven’t subscribed, be sure to do so soon.
And now, back to my regularly scheduled crocheting.
